Vivelle Dot (Estradiol patch) is used to provide estrogen hormones for women experiencing menopause. This reduces the symptoms of menopause including vaginal dryness and hot flashes. It can also provide estrogen when the body does not produce enough naturally. This can be due to other medical conditions such as ovarian failure and hypogonadism. It can treat symptoms concerning the vagina or osteoporosis but other products tend to work better. How does Estradot Patch work?
Estradot patches provide estrogen to the body when it cannot produce it on its own.
How do you use Estradot Patch?
The skin patches are applied on the lower back, hip, abdomen or buttocks twice a week. It should be changed every 3 or 4 days. If you experience irritation, you can try applying the sticky side to a different part of your body. Call your doctor or pharmacist if you have trouble finding a place that is comfortable.
Women who have not had a hysterectomy should take progestin to prevent side effects. Avoid putting patches on or near the breasts and apply the patch to a different area from week to week. Do not place the patch on the same location 2 weeks in a row.
