What is Trelegy Ellipta used for?

Asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema), such as asthma, can be controlled with Trelegy Ellipta. Staying active is made easier when breathing problems are controlled. Among the three medications contained in this inhaler are fluticasone, umeclidinium, and vilanterol. This drug belongs to the corticosteroid class of drugs. In order to ease breathing, it reduces swelling in the lungs' airways. The anticholinergic drug umeclidinium belongs to the Long-Acting Beta-Agonists (LABA) class, while the LABA medication vilanterol belongs to the anticholinergic class. These two drugs work by relaxing muscles around the airways, which makes it easier to breathe. They are called bronchodilators. They are used long term to prevent breathing problems.

How To Use Trelegy Ellipta?

Your doctor will usually recommend inhaling this medication once a day. Inhalers should not be opened until you are ready to use them. Preparation of a dose occurs every time you open the cover. A dose of Trelegy ellipta is lost if the cover is opened and closed without the medication being inhaled.

Make sure you inhale the medication before closing the cover. This will prevent wasting doses. Inhale and do not exhale into the device. You may or may not taste or feel the drug.

Do not take extra doses as they will not improve your condition. Symptoms of overdose include medical conditions such as heart problems and blurred vision.
It is important to use this medication regularly if you want to reap its full benefits. Do not use it more than once a day to keep it from getting forgotten. Use it at the same time every day to help you remember. MIssing doses can increase the risk of your symptoms returning.

It is important that you consult a doctor before increasing or stopping your dose, using this medication more often, or stopping it altogether. There will be no faster improvement in your condition, and you will be at greater risk of side effects.
When gargling or rinsing your mouth with water, never swallow the water. This prevents dry mouth, hoarseness, and oral fungal infection (thrush). Wait at least one minute between using other inhalers if you are using more than one.

You should follow your doctor's instructions on how to take inhaled corticosteroids regularly. If you are taking them regularly, do not stop taking them. You may have to reduce your dose gradually.

You may experience high blood pressure during treatment. Your doctor may need to monitor your blood pressure.
