What is Tri-Cyclen Lo used for?

Tri-Cyclen Lo is a combined oral contraceptive used to prevent women from becoming pregnant. It can also make periods less severe by making them more consistent, less painful and decrease the amount of blood loss. This will not protect you against sexually transmitted diseases so methods of birth control, including condoms are still recommended.

Tri-Cyclen Lo (norgestimate, ethinyl estradiol) Information

How does Tri-Cyclen Lo work?

It works by preventing a woman's egg from fully developing and making it impossible to accept sperm.

How do you use Tri-Cyclen Lo?

Tri-Cyclen Lo tablets are taken orally once a day as directed by your doctor. It works best when taken around the same time every day. Follow your doctor’s instructions and the directions on your package. They should be taken in the correct order.

Missing doses can make pregnancy more likely. You may need to start a new pack later or choose a different time of day to take your dose. If you feel nauseous or experience stomach problems, you may need to adjust when you take the product.

Your package may have inactive tablets. These are often taken as reminders after you have used the 21 active tablets. If you receive a product with only 21 tablets, you may need to stop taking the tablets daily for 7 days(unless instructed otherwise by your doctor). You should have your period during thai break from the active medication.

It may be used to treat acne in women 15 years of age or older. This is usually recommended for individuals that are treating acne and require birth control.
