Ventolin Inhaler (Salbutamol), belongs to a class of medications known as bronchodilators. More specifically, β2-adrenergic agonists. Ventolin can prevent exercise induced bronchospasm in adults and children. Your airways are relaxed by it by reducing muscle tension. By doing so, you open up your airways and breathe more easily.

How To Use Ventolin Inhaler?

Make sure the canister is shaken well before using. It is important for first time users or those who have not used their inhalers for more than 2 weeks to follow the instructions for testing sprays in the air.

If you have dropped your inhaler, please follow the instructions for testing sprays in the air. Spraying the medication into your eyes is not recommended. If you see a fine mist, the inhaler is working properly.

It is usually recommended that you use this medication by mouth every four to six hours as directed by your doctor. In accordance with your medical condition and response to treatment, the dosage will be determined.

Use this drug only as prescribed by your doctor. Do not exceed the recommended dose or use it more often than recommended. You may experience serious (possibly fatal) side effects if you use too much of this medication.

You should inhale 2 puffs 15 minutes before exercise if you are using this medication to prevent asthma brought on by exercise. Your doctor will provide you with the maximum 24 hour dose.

If you are taking this medication, you should use a spacer device. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

Inhalations should be separated by at least one minute if two are prescribed.

The time between using each medication should be at least one minute if you are using multiple inhalers at the same time.
