Can I return my medication?

Medications that have already been dispensed and shipped out cannot be returned to inventory under Canadian law. The dispensing pharmacy is also required to destroy any previously dispensed medications, so all sales are final.
However, if our pharmacy has made an error when dispensing the medication or if any damage has occurred during shipping we will accept a return.
Because we are committed to providing a personalized customer experience you are always welcome to call one of our pharmacists and discuss your medication.
In order to authorize a return, call 1-833-781-5773 and we will give you mailing instructions. After your medication is received to the pharmacy we will issue a full refund to your account.

Can I cancel my order after it has been submitted?

We can cancel your first fill on a prescription as long as you contact us within 24 hours of the prescription being received. We cannot cancel refill orders as they are processed almost immediately and are usually shipped out within hours of receiving the order. Additionally it is illegal for the medication to be reused once it has left our pharmacy.

Can you work with my insurance company?

Since insurance is different in each country, we are unable to work directly with your company. If you work with a private insurance company you can reach out to them and ask them whether they will reimburse you for prescriptions filled through Sunshine Pharmacy. We will always issue a receipt for each order which you can submit to your insurance company for payment. They may or may not reimburse you for these payments. This is something you will have to clarify with them.

What is the difference between brand name and generic medications?

In short, there is not a lot of difference. Generic medications contain the same active ingredients and concentrations as the name brand medications. The difference is usually in the colour, markings, shape and size of the pill and in the non-active filler ingredients.

Sunshine Pharmacy provides the high-quality name brand and generic medications to you that we do to our own community. When you choose a generic equivalent you are not sacrificing quality; you are simply choosing to save on a product that has the same effects as the brand name equivalent.

Why do medications I get from you look different from the ones I get locally?

The packaging as well as the medication itself may look different because it was manufactured to be sold in Canada. However, Brand products are manufactured with the same formulation for all countries. Generic medications contain the same active ingredients and concentrations as the name-brand products, but can differ in shape, color, size, markings and non-active fillers.

Can I get my medications sent without a Child Resistant container?

The current pharmacy regulations require that we dispense medications in a child-safe container. If you would like to get your medication without a child resistant container you will need to submit a written request form which you can download here. Once you download the form, print it off, fill it out, and sign. Send the completed form back via email, fax, or regular mail and we will add it to your account.

What is the EFT payment option?

Electronic Funds Transfer, or EFT, allows us to get payment from you electronically instead of mailing a paper check. EFT payments are advantageous because it takes less time for us to receive your payment as opposed to a paper check. We also don’t have to wait for it to come in the mail and risk it getting lost in transit.  (Read more here)
